Fair Guide Advisory 2009 December 10, 2009

It has been brought to the attention of World Potato Congress Inc. that a company called "Fair Guide/Expo Guide" is, once again, distributing, by direct mail, a document referring to their participation at a World Potato Congress and asking organizations to register for free in their online Fair Guide.
This company references a location in Mexico as their business base, and therefore operates under Mexican law.
World Potato Congress Inc. originally cautioned members about "Fair Guide" in September, 2006, July 2007, and October 2008.
It has been reported to us that if one registers as requested, the "Fair Guide" company alleges that a contract to pay more than E 1,100.00 has been signed! The Fair Guide company goes to great lengths to attempt to collect this money.
We hereby advise that World Potato Congress Inc. has no affiliation, whatsoever, with the "Fair Guide" company and does not endorse or approve of their business activities.
Persons receiving any solicitation from this company are urged to investigate the company and read ALL material available before deciding whether to respond to the solicitation.
